Early Stage Investing

I have been trolling the internet lately to see how many early stage concepts/applications are out there in internetland that need funding. Not the kinds that have a proof of concept and are looking to go to the next level. No, I am talking about the ones that are so young that they are still trying to figure out how they can make it another week. The kinds that are founded by one or two people that still hold down regular jobs and they can’t wait for the day they can work on their project full time.

It’s hard to find those because they don’t exactly post that kind of information on their home page. I know they are out there though. These founders/companies only need so much money to stay lean and just get to the point where they can prove revenue. I just read a post from Brad Feld that talked about their OpenCoffee Club. This club meets at a coffeehouse every other Tuesday so that VC’s and entrepreneurs can have an introduction and dialogue. We need something like this in Houston. Any takers?
